New Brunswick is certainly not Canada’s most exciting province, but there are some beautiful areas to explore!
Fundy National Park
This is a very cool little national park with forests, the bay, and a lot of waterfalls.
Dickson Falls Trail: This is a quick trail at just half a mile long and takes about 20 minutes to complete. It leads to a pretty large waterfall along a brook and beautiful mossy forest setting.
Matthews Head Trail: This moderate trail leads out to nice views of the bay. It is very quiet and a part of the much longer Fundy Coastal Trail. The Matthews head loop is 3 miles long with 772ft of elevation gain and takes about 1.5 hours to complete.
Tipsy Tails: This restaurant sits just outside the park in Alma. It is set on the water with great views, delicious eats, and has reasonable prices.
Holy Whale: A solid brewery in Alma just up the block!
Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park
This area is home to the highest tides in the world! At the park you can hike about a mile out to the rock formations which at low tide you can walk on the ocean floor, or at high tide you can kayak on top of! AKA—be mindful of timing when you visit and pull up the tide schedule!
Expect to get a bit muddy, but there is a hose to rinse off. Dog-friendly. Paid entrance. Paid shuttle available if you’re not able to do the hike. Very neat and unique!
Moncton
The town of Moncton is 35 minutes up the road from Hopewell Rocks and serves as a good base point. It has a cute downtown with frequent events.
Tide & Boar: This brewery and gastropub is in the heart of downtown with a great patio space, a huge food menu, cocktails, and quite tasty beer!
Holy Whale Brewery also has a location here (mentioned above in Fundy!)
